The
Green Curriculum
Junior Section
The Green Curriculum is an integral part of studies at the Junior Section.
In class 6, all students grow a variety of vegetsbles, herbs and flowers.
In addition, research work is done on exotic plants, indigenous trees
and plants around the world. Students also participate in the preparation
of pickles and jellies under the supervision of an expert. Part of the
course involves a specialized component. The students may choose from
four different areas
- Unit 1 : Cacti
- Unit 2: Orchids
- Unit 2 : Vegetable Garden
- Unit 3: Herbs
- Unit 4: Ferns
- Unit 5 : Compost and Waste Disposal
All students from Class 3 to Class
6 take a set of subjects which comprise: English, Urdu, Math, Art, History,
Geography (Social Studies), Design and Technology, Music, Computer Studies,
Islamiyat, Science and Physical Education.
Hands
on History
From classes 3 to 6, history is
introduced through projects role-play. The activities culminate in a
celebration of each civilization and a day dedicated to art, music,
food and other aspects of lifestyles pertaining to six major ancient
civilization.
Learning Modules are also offered
as part of the course requirement in each class. Students take one module
every year.
