The 15th KBC International Interschool Rowing Regatta
February 2023
The Annual KBC International Interschool Regatta was held from 27 January to 5 February. This was the first time international schools took part in this regatta, with three teams coming from Sri Lanka. The C.A.S. Rowing Team trained for over three months, spending many early mornings at KBC for water training and doing indoor training after school. The team competed against 20 schools and their hard work paid off when they secured second position overall. Team won 14 gold medals, 14 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals and a Youth Trophy for U15 Boys. Special mentions were given to Syeda Emaan Shujaat, who won Best Female Rower of the Regatta U18, and Amaan Asad, who was nominated for Best Male Rower of the Year.
The team would like to thank Ms Reem Ansari and their coaches Mr Aneel Shahzad, Mr Mubaraz Ashraf and Mr Umer Allah Rakha, as well as thier Captain, Ensi Qiao and Vice Captain, Mekael Talal for their unwavering support. And a big thank you to Captain of Boats, Mr Arif Ikram and Karachi Boat Club.
MaasMUN
June 2023
The C.A.S. School sent its 17-member debating team to the Netherlands led by their Senior Instructor, Mr Umer Irfan Sharfuddin, to compete at the United World College (UWC) Maastricht’s MaasMUN from 23 to 25 June. In this international debating competition teams from Brazil, England, Georgia, Germany, Jordan, Malaysia, Netherlands, and Pakistan, among other countries, participated. It is important to mention here that C.A.S. was the only team to participate from Pakistan.

Mahnoor Zaidi, Mekail Ahsan, Mikail Khalid Mahmood, Nael Atif Jan, Nael Manghi, Omar Siddiqui, Osman Jalal Khan, Raahim Aziz,
Salina Ovais Allawala, Shaan Ali, Shafay Kashan, Shahzayn Khan and Sufyan Siddiqui. The team was also featured in Limburger, a Dutch newspaper. Our team received the following awards:

Special Olympics 2023
June 2023
Amna Momin Zia of Class 7 from The C.A.S. School, along with 84 other participants from all over Pakistan, participated in the16th Special Olympics World Games in Berlin from 17 to 25 June. Over 6,000 athletes from 190 countries took part in the Special Olympics. Amna represented Pakistan as a swimmer in 25-metre Freestyle and 25-metre Backstroke. She secured 8th position in the intense 25-metre Freestyle finals. She was selected as the flag-bearer for the Pakistan contingent at the closing ceremony.

extraordinary potential. We also thank Ms Saba Shozeb for training Amna not only for the Special Olympics but also for other local and national swimming competitions.
Africa day
March 2020
At the Junior Section, History and Geography are taught through a series of interactive projects and activities. This year despite the challenges of On-line learning, the students were introduced to the civilization of Ancient China through artwork, stories, writing assignment as well as an introduction to the ancient art of Tai Chi.
This was followed by a detailed look into the Continent of Africa through interactive videos, story sessions and music.
Vienna International Rowing Regatta
July 2023
Karachi Boat Club sent a 37-member team to represent Pakistan at the Vienna International Rowing Regatta held on 1 and 2 July at the Regatta Course Vienna, Danube River. 21 students of The C.A.S. School, from classes 8 to 11, participated in the Regatta.The rowing competition had an impressive line of over 500 athletes from 47 clubs of 15 different countries. Pakistan secured the 6th position with 77 points. C.A.S. won a silver and two bronze medals in the U-17 Girls’ Fours, U-15 Boys’ Scull and U-19 Mens‘ Pair respectively.

Sheikh Aariz Danish and Syed Rafae Abbas Kazmi from Class 9, Abiha Taimur, Azka Azhar, Eishal Ayesha Rajput, Syed Rayan Ahmed, Salaar Zafar Ali and Ayzah Mazhar from Class 10, Ensi Qiao and Amaan Asad from Class 11.

The Junior Football Club
January 2023
The C.A.S.School has collaborated with the Karachi United (KU) football club to form an after-school Junior Football Club for classes 1 and 2. The practices are conducted by two KU coaches, and are held on separate days for each class to ensure every student receives proper training.
This is the beginning of what we hope will become The C.A.S. School’s football team.

Students of the Senior Section take out an 8-page newspaper, the Neemtree, four times a year. Written and designed by students themselves, it consists of articles, surveys, letters to the editor, sports news, comments, events and activities held each quarter. Faculty supervisor for Neemtree is Ms Sana Zaidi.

- On 21 February 2020, students of class 11 went for a picnic to Sonmiani Beach as part of their farewell.
- On 6 December 2019, students of class 3 presented a musical. They learnt about the Amazon Rainforest and the terrible impact of deforestation. The choir sang Anthem for Amazon . The musical was choreographed by Ms Zarmeena Yusuf.
- From 11 to 12 February 2020, a book fair was held at the Main Campus. It provided an excellent opportunity for the students and staff to buy interesting books of their choice.
- On 24 February 2020, C.A.S. School hosted the opening ceremony of the 8th Inter-staff Cricket Tournament. Teams from Baba Island, St Michael’s Convent School, Southshore College, Bay View High, along with C.A.S. teams from the Senior, Junior and Kindergarten Sections and the PRI team participated in this tournament.
- On 11 and 13 February, a Culinary Arts Competition was held in which students from classes 5 to 7 of the Culinary Art Module took part.
- In December, 2019, the DG Rangers organized the ‘Shukria Jinnah Gala’ Karachi Open Chess Championship in collaboration with the Sindh Chess Association. Students from classes 5 to 7 of the C.A.S. participated in this event.
- On 28 January 2020, students of EcoStudies went on a field trip to Ranikot Fort also known as Rannikot, located in the Jamshoro district of Sindh.
